NZ Falcon (Karearea)




The New Zealand Falcon(karearea in te reo). They’re incredible creatures that fly in the air. The NZ Falcon appears on our $20 bill. There is a south falcon, a east falcon & a bush falcon. They eat small birds, insects, rodents, mammals, snakes, lizards, fish, turtles and frogs and birds smaller than itself. So you see that they’re a wonderful creature what they do & here some more facts about a rare NZ Falcon bird.

Feathered,sharp beak & fast they are very rare birds to New Zealand.                                  


Habitat
Forests.


What they eat
Lizards, Small,Birds, Rodents, Mammals, Insects, Fish, Turtles, Frogs and Birds smaller than itself.




Life Cycle
Females lay between 1-4 eggs.

The NZ Falcon appears on our $20 bill,The sound they make is “Kek,Kek,Kek. They have very keen eyes.


Now you see how wonderful they are and what they do in New Zealand. That is fantastic. They're rear though they're special to New Zealand and do not shoot or kill because you should know that they're special and native to New Zealand.
